Other Apprenticeships, Cadets & Trainees Jobs:

Trainees

Trainees are important members of a company. Even though they are still trainees, these people are the ones who will eventually take on the tasks that make a company tick. Their training period is a crucial time within a company. Here, good mentors should be selected. At the same time, trainees must be above par in terms of intelligence - at least, enough to take in all the additional skills and knowledge that will be taught to them.

Trainees get the most in development programs for trainees. These trainees gain skill sets and knowledge that schooling or formal training did not give them. With development programs for trainees, they learn skills that they would actually use at work. At the same time, trainees are taught the company's practices, procedures and standards.

However, trainees are not the only ones to gain from the development program for trainees. Even the mentors and the company itself have a lot benefit in development programs for trainees.

With development programs for trainees, mentors get the chance to also improve. As a mentor, you teach trainees the different skills and knowledge necessary to function within the company. You also inculcate the corporate culture and standards. You may feel some satisfaction once your trainees pass standards. When you feel free and confident enough to delegate some of your tasks to the trainees, you end up freeing up your time to delve on other company matters. This way, you end up doing more and producing more. You also improve your chances at getting a promotion. Managers and company leaders notice you more because, as mentor, you are also a leader.

Development programs for trainees also benefit the company. Aside from the obvious benefit of getting learned staff into the corporation, the company also improves the skills of its chosen mentors. In a way, mentorship is a way for the company to develop its leaders. The mentors are being taught how to lead. Pretty soon, they may be groomed to lead bigger teams, the entire department, or even the whole company. All this starts with becoming a mentor to trainees. The mentor learns how to communicate ideas, procedures and instructions clearly. He/ she learns to recognize the abilities and flaws of the trainees, and to nurture them into team players and good employees.

In developing trainees, the company adds power to its work force. From here, they many even get future mentors and future leaders. In developing mentors, the company allows the selected individuals to explore their potential as leaders.
